PLF's Delta smelt litigation is a centerpiece of a larger and more comprehensive program to rein in overzealous regulation of the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA). PLF's Save Our Water Campaign is a new initiative that seeks to address, through targeted litigation in state and federal courts, abuses of the ESA and other major federal and state environmental laws. Additionally, the Project will work in the court of public opinion to inform, educate and enlist citizens in the effort to ensure that their constitutional rights are not sacrificed, denigrated, or subordinated to the interests of environmental protection.
