Fox News Channel features PLF property-rights client bullied by a greedy city
CARLSBAD, CA; April 7, 2010: This week, "Fox & Friends," the nationally broadcast morning show on the Fox News Channel, aired a live interview with Carlsbad homeowner and PLF client Craig Griswold, who is being subjected to an unconscionable shakedown by the city. The case is Griswold v. Carlsbad.
In order to have room for their grandchildren, Craig and his wife Robin sought a city permit to add two bedrooms to their house. The city responded with a shakedown: The Griswolds would either have to pay a fee of $115,000 or sign a Neighborhood Improvement Agreement, that stripped them of their right to vote on property assessments (a right guaranteed by the California Constitution – Proposition 218).
